Emergency Dentist in St George

In Pain? We’re Here to Help.

The most important step is to call us right away. Dental emergencies can be frightening, and our team is here to listen to your situation, provide immediate instructions, and make arrangements for you to be seen as soon as possible.

Caring for Your Smile Until We Can See You

After you’ve called our office, a few simple steps can help manage your situation and keep you more comfortable.

  • Severe Toothache: Rinse your mouth with warm salt water. A cold compress held against the outside of your cheek can also help reduce swelling and discomfort. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the tooth or gums.
  • Knocked-Out Tooth: If you can, find the tooth. Holding it only by the crown (the chewing surface), gently rinse it with water. Do not scrub it. Try to place it back in its socket, and if it goes in, bite down gently on a piece of gauze to hold it in place. If you can’t, put the tooth in a small container of milk and bring it with you. Time is critical.
  • Cracked or Broken Tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water. If there is swelling, apply a cold compress to the area. If you can find the broken piece of the tooth, bring it with you.
  • Lost Crown or Filling: If a crown has come off, you can try to temporarily place it back on the tooth using a small dab of dental adhesive or even toothpaste. Do not use super glue. If you’ve lost a filling, you can temporarily cover the area with a piece of sugar-free gum.

Common Dental Emergencies We Handle

As a rule of thumb, any time you’re dealing with dental pain or uncertainty, a phone call is the right choice. We would much rather you call and have it be nothing serious than have you wait and worry. We are equipped to help with a wide range of urgent dental needs, including:

  • Severe, lasting toothaches

  • A partially or fully knocked-out tooth

You Don’t Have to Handle This Alone

We know that when you’re facing a dental emergency, you’re dealing with much more than just physical pain; there’s also the stress and worry that comes with it. For Dr. Evans and Dr. Goold, the most important thing is getting you out of pain and feeling your best again with gentle, expert care.

A simple phone call at (435) 986-9799 puts our entire team in your corner, ready to help and get you back to feeling your best.

If you have experienced trauma to the head or neck, we recommend that you visit the emergency room or your general physician before coming to us, even if your smile is also damaged.
